Four ways Golf Tournament

The Four ways Golf Tournament for 2010 was held at the Waikare Course in Te Kauwhata, on Sunday 21st February.
It has been played between the Old Boys of the Otahuhu and Ellerslie League Clubs and the College Rifles and Suburbs Rugby Clubs for well over 40 years, and this year the Hosts were Otahuhu.
The teams of twelve players enjoyed a pleasant summers day on a course with plenty of run on it and recently cored greens  with plenty of sand on them.
The hosts were triumphant with a total of 444 stableford points and with a creditable third Suburbs won the right to be hosts in 2011.
The venue will be the same and the tournament will be played on Sunday the 13th February.

The Old Boys Golf Championship

Bruce Hammond
The Old Boys held the Club Golf Championship for 2009 at the Huapai Course on Sunday 15th November.
The Champion and holder of the Fred Lovett Cup for 2009 is Bruce Hammond with a nett 63, runner up with a nett 69 was Richard Batley. Best Gross of 79 by Warren Southgate and Best Stableford was a 41 by Mark Birtwistle.
The Old Boys would like to thank Sponsors, Owens Transport, Courier Post, Adidas, and Mike Vincent Motors.
An interesting addition to the field was a young lady called Kerryn who made up a four with three old fellas, Bones, Lloyd and Wayne, and made their day. Kerryn drove her tee shot on the first hole straight down the middle some 200 metres, duly paring the hole and many subsequent ones. Turned out Kerryn Starr is a professional from Christchurch who was having a practice round before playing in the Anita Boon Pro-Am the next day at Huapai , which she duly won.
